I think today's national days
were the easiest to celebrate thus far.
Today was
National Chocolate Milkshake Day
and
National Video Games Day
(Of course the kids were excited about this one)
So we had to wait until after school,
after unpacking (we recently moved), and
after a very physically and mentally
taxing baseball practice for our son
to celebrate this.
Trust me when I say that
chocolate shakes
and
stress relieving video games
were a welcome reprieve from our day.
Your favorite time...
Picture time!
First we made MILKSHAKES for the kids!!!
Then us adults made our version of milkshakes
except way healthier. ;-)
Vegan Chocolate Shakeology!
YUM!
Then we played video games!!!
The pictures afterward were hilarious!
We hadn't played our Kinect in months,
so it was nice to dust it off
and have a few laughs at
ourselves looking ridiculous
trying to play these games.
We had great fun,
but now I'm exhausted
and
surprised that I'm able to keep typing
without passing out at the keyboard.
Tomorrow is
National Kids Takeover The Kitchen Day
(Meaning I don't have to cook)
I'm really excited to see what they come up with
since they've been pouring over their cookbooks since last night!
Stay tuned...
I love having the excuse to celebrate not only making but consuming milkshakes. This must have been a fun family activity.
ReplyDeleteI love having milkshakes with my kids, there's something so timeless about sharing time together over a milkshake with Hershey's syrup.
ReplyDeleteLike I need an excuse to have a milkshake. Or like my kids need excuses to play video games.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Yes, milkshakes and video games day would definitely be an easy one to celebrate. I think we celebrate it every day!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! I haven't played Kinect in ages either. Time to dust it off and have some fun. My son, of course, celebrates Video Game day every day.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fantastic day to celebrate. Mmmm milkshakes. My daughter is playing a game right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the milkshakes for sure. I think son should definitely cook dinner tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun that you do all the holidays. I would have loved to take part in this one for sure. ha!
ReplyDeleteSign me up! Sounds like a great idea and what a great way to spend time with the Family :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't everyday milkshake day? I love whipping up those for my girls but sadly I usually have to drink theirs.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to tell my son who has been wanting to play Lego Batman that today is video game day. I'm sure he'll be delighted to help do his part. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the Kinect! My husband is wanting to get a Wii and I am all boo!!!! I like that the kinect makes you be active.
ReplyDeleteSure wish I had known Milkshake Day was Friday .... I would have gotten myself a Jamocha shake from Arby's!!
ReplyDeleteThat is great. I would definitely celebrate milkshake day ;)
ReplyDeleteChocolate milkshake and video games? Yes, please! I can celebrate both all 365 days in a year lol! Looks like your family had great fun celebrating it this year!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! This would probably be my favorite day too! Although I'm not much into video games, my kids love them and shakes? Yes please!
ReplyDeleteMilkshakes are the best . My kids love video games! Amber N
ReplyDeleteThose two combined sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't played video games in a while but after seeing you guys have so much fun maybe I may make milkshakes and play this weekend.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a holiday I'd love to celebrate! Thanks for sharing!
