Because it is the weekend
I'm going to keep this post short and sweet!
Today was
(Inter)National Talk Like a Pirate day
and
the kids and I had a blast with it.
We talked like pirates before school,
we talked like pirates after,
and we even
made a video
that won't upload for some strange reason. :-(
It's pretty funny
and I promise to keep trying to
get it on here!
Okay, so,
National Butterscotch Day...
I've never had butterscotch pudding
and to be completely honest,
I wasn't looking forward to making it.
I thought it was going to be this
tedious ordeal
for some mediocre dessert.
Would you believe it if I told you I was
completely mistaken?
Seriously, I was.
I found an awesome recipe here and
the whole thing took about 10 minutes
to make from start to finish.
to make from start to finish.
Crazy right?
It's chilling in the fridge as I write this
and another kicker?
It doesn't have to set for 3+ hours or overnight!
This badboy is ready for you in about an hour,
if that long.
Even better,
it's delicious!
I don't know if you are, but I'm a huge fan of
salted caramel anything
and that's kind of what it reminds me of...
It's so good guys,
creamy good deliciousness.
Ready for it?
I know you are.
Here are pictures...
Ingredients: 1/2 cup - Dark Brown Sugar, 2 TBSP + 2 TSP Cornstarch, 1/4 TSP - Salt, 2 TBSP - Unsalted Butter (cut into pieces), 1 TSP - Vanilla, 1 1/2 Cup - Whole Milk, 1/2 Cup - Heavy Cream |
And of course I wasn't going to leave you without the recipe!
Easy Butterscotch Pudding
Directions
Mix together sugar, milk, cream, salt, and cornstarch,
bring to boil over medium-high heat
Let the mixture boil while whisking for 1 minute exactly!
Take the mixture off of the heat and stir in butter & vanilla
Pour the mix into a glass bowl and cover,
place in the fridge for as long as you'd like.
(I did an hour)
Come back, bowl up, and enjoy.
So light and creamy, of course I had to add vanilla ice cream too (Cool Whip works just as good!). I think it's becoming a signature thing I do. Haha! |
Enjoy!
Tomorrow is
