Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal... OH YEAH! |
I'm going to share something about me here,
I'm a habitual breakfast skipper.
I'm too busy.
I'm brushing hair, changing diapers,
making breakfast for other folks
signing forms,
refereeing,
feeding babies,
and making sure the pups are taken care of...
with all that and more
breakfast for me is the last thing on my mind.
I know, I know it's terrible to skip breakfast
and I do try to get it in, but alas... Chaos trumps food.
So, imagine how happy I was to actually get to take a few moments
to enjoy a nice hot, filling, and delicious breakfast!
What made me happier was my daughter joining in
the celebration by having a bowl of oatmeal with me,
It was a sweet moment with my precious daughter
that while fleeting, very memorable.
I'm looking forward to more of those throughout this 365 day excursion.
More sweet moments, more simple memories, more quiet and calm, more conversations.
A lot more.
Okay,
so tomorrow is
National Candy Corn Day
:-/
Guess who's not at all excited about this.
Not. at. all.
I would be pretty excited for National Candy Corn day, too! LOL. I love it, but I never buy it because I am the only one in the house that likes it and I don't want to end up eating the entire bag by myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm a breakfast skipper too. However, I love breakfast for other meals, so I do get my oatmeal fix in. :)
ReplyDeleteI had a post I was going to write up yesterday for this and I got too busy to do it. Today is Candy Corn Day so I might write something on that...
ReplyDeleteI often skip breakfast also but when I don't.. oatmeal is great when made the right way! Oh and very healthy.
ReplyDeleteI think every day should be National Oatmeal Day! And only because I recently discovered these chocolate covered coconut flakes that are to die for on hot oatmeal. YUM!
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of oatmeal, I put it in a lot of different things. Make your breakfasts ahead, that is what I have to do!
ReplyDeleteI wish I liked oatmeal :( The only oatmeal I like is oatmeal cookies. But I know steel cut oats are so good for you, so I keep trying them in various ways hoping one day that I'll like them :)
ReplyDeleteI love oatmeal anytime at all. Best meal/snack ever.
ReplyDeleteI eat a lot of oatmeal. It is one of the grains that don't cause me to have any issues.
ReplyDeleteOhh oatmeal - such a great thing when it comes to breakfast time. Nice to hear it has its own day! x
ReplyDeleteI love oatmeal. I love steel cut oatmeal and you can make a big batch in a slow cooker and but it away in separate containers and have enough ahead for a few days. Just pop it in the microwave.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm a day late but I think I'll make an oatmeal smoothie tomorrow to celebrate :)
ReplyDeleteOh Apple cinnamon oatmeal sounds fantastic! My kids love oatmeal. I never skip breakfast and neither should any of you. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had oatmeal in many years. I had no idea it was a national day. Enjoy some for both of us!
ReplyDeleteI am not a huge oatmeal fan. I would be more interested in the candy corn day! haha
ReplyDeleteWow.. Oatmeal, reminds me that I should have some oatmeal next time. Been awhile since I had one.
ReplyDeleteI'm still amazed at how there is a day for everything. We love oatmeal at our house and eat it at least twice a week usually for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI've never been an oatmeal fan. However, it is really cool that you can customize it so many different ways.
ReplyDeleteThere really is a day for everything! I love to dress up my oatmeal with vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon. I like it with apples too, but my son doesn't like it.
ReplyDeleteI love oatmeal. I don't eat it often but when I do it's always a special treat.
ReplyDeleteI love oatmeal. It's so easy and inexpensive and there are so many ways you can change it up with toppings.
